We’re a charity which creates rewilding projects in the North of England.

Our mission is to allow land to recover from decades of overuse by humans. And give it back to nature.

We’re looking to acquire sites all over the North. In areas which are less intensively farmed, where we can have a big impact on the water catchment systems.

Reducing flooding, fires, fighting climate change
In rewilded places, plants are better able to cope with disease and drought. It’s one way that we can adapt to climate change.
We also want to slow the flow of water from our uplands. This helps to reduce flooding in towns and cities downstream.
Damper, more stable conditions also helps to reduce fires in our uplands. And deep-rooted plants structure the soils, creating space for insects above and below ground. This helps prevent soil erosion.

Reintroducing ancient species

Once sites are well on their way with shrubs, grasses and brambles, we can introduce key rewilding species. Wild boar and long horned cattle graze and help biodiversity to flourish.

We want places where water voles and sundew plants can thrive, where beavers and storks can make their homes again.
